The location of the cottages is marked on the map below using the green arrow.
As you can see, the cottages are in the centre of three major tourism regions; the Shannon area, the Southeast and the
Southwest. This makes them an ideal base for touring to sights in Clare, Limerick, Cork, Kerry and Kilkenny, all of which can be
comfortably visited in a day trip by car.

They are also easily accessible from major International Airports in Shannon, Cork and Dublin as well as from the ferry ports in Dublin, Cork and Rosslare.
During a weeks stay at the cottages, many guests would do up to six day trips like those described on our sightseeing page. These day trips would average out at about 2 hours driving per day.
Its essential to have a car available whilst staying at the cottages and in visiting Ireland in general. Public transport in Ireland is really only sufficient for visting the major cities. Some useful hire companies are Alamo, Hertz, Avis, Budget, and Thrifty.
Some visitors would use public transport to reduce the driving involved, particularly for longer trips such as a trip to Dublin which is one and a half hours by train from our nearest traing station which is a forty minute drive from the cottages. The Irish Rail and Irish Bus web sites have all national train and bus timetables.
Information on ferries from the UK and France is available from Irish Ferries, Seacat, StenaLine and P&O.
