Restored Stone Cottages
Built of stone some two hundred years ago they have recently been carefully restored to a very high standard. These four cottages are located in a large walled garden, in the grounds of the owner’s Georgian house. Interiors are beautifully furnished and have exposed timber beams and floors, treated with organically friendly waxes. This has enhanced the old world character of the cottages.

Accommodation for Four
Each cottage has two bedrooms upstairs, one double room (King size ) and one twin room. The double room has a wash basin, vanity unit and wardrobes. The twin room contains a dressing table. There is also a cot available to accommodate an additional baby. The ground floor has a lounge/dining area with TV, a three piece suite, table and four chairs, pine dresser, fridge, electric cooker and all necessary utensils; micro wave , toaster, coffee pot, kettle, crockery, etc. The bathroom contains both bath and shower with a shaving point, toilet and wash basin. The entrance hall has an automatic washer/drier located under the stairs. Bed linen and towels are included.

Modern Facilities
The thermal insulation of the cottages is to modern standards with double glazed windows and draft protection. The electric heating and hot water systems are thermostatically controlled for economy. All rooms have heaters; there are four instant heaters and two storage heaters in each cottage. All this makes for a very comfortable cottage. Outside there is plenty of secure parking, a large lawn with barbecue and garden furniture.

Surrounding Countryside
Situated in a rural landscape, of pastures, rolling hills, woodland and streams, the cottages provide guests with an appreciation of the peace and tranquillity of Irish rural life. The pictures below shows the view from the garden in front of the cottages. In 2008 Darragh Cottages was awarded an Enviromental Achievement Award for Best Wild life Garden by Limerick Country Council.
